Venue: The Spring Shopping Mall, Kuching.
Kuching Autistic Association (KAA) held an exhibition of the amazing artworks, artwork merchandise, baskets and beadwork done by our talented students. This was our third and largest Autism Art Exhibition, with 92 artworks and 18 baskets on display. Artworks by 12 of KAA’s very own artists were featured. Five local artists generously contributed their artworks to support this exhibition and raise funds for KAA.
KAA was honoured to have Dato Wee Hong Seng, Major of Kuching City South, to officiate the launching ceremony. Many distinguished guests, corporate organisations and individuals came to support this exhibition and make purchases – it was almost a sold-out exhibition. Our artwork and our artwork merchandise featuring designs by KAA artists were snapped up by visitors at the Exhibition.
Apart from generating funds for KAA to run therapy, educational and vocational programmes for children and adults living with autism, the Exhibition also promoted awareness and acceptance of the autism community. Many were amazed at the standard of artwork produced by our students and young adults.
